Is Danish Climate Policy fair and just?

Jens Friis Lund, professor of political ecology at the Global Development section, Department of Food and Resource Economics, UCPH visits Actory.

In this talk, Jens Friis Lund will examine the much celebrated Danish Climate Policy goal of a 70% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 from the perspective of climate justice. Specifically, he compares the goal with a global greenhouse gas budget for the 1.5 degree goal that is allocated across countries using five different criteria that reflect justice to varying degrees. He will then discuss the policy implications of the results.

Jens Friis Lund is part of the independent researcher-based ‘Klima- og Omstillingsrådet’ that contributes to Danish debates on climate and green transformation from an interdisciplinary and justice-based perspective.
