Stop Food Waste at KU – Share · Eat · Save

Every day, good food goes to waste after meetings, conferences, and events at the University of Copenhagen. We want to change that — with you!

Are you a student or staff member at KU?
Join our WhatsApp Community and get notified when surplus food is available for free pickup. It could be sandwiches from a seminar, cake from a reception, or lunch from a talk — all food that would otherwise be thrown away.

For those who want to pick up food:

  • Enjoy free and tasty food — straight from campus
  • Help reduce food waste and make KU more sustainable
  • Connect with others through spontaneous breaks and shared moments

For those with leftover food:

Do you have surplus food after an event?
Sign up as a food sharer and post in the WhatsApp Community so others can collect it. It’s easy, quick, and meaningful.

  • Make a difference for the climate — and for hungry students
  • Create positive buzz around your event and show responsibility
  • Avoid throwing away good food — and receive grateful smiles in return

Important to know:

The responsibility for disposing of unclaimed food remains with the food sharer.

Always include how long the food will be available for pickup in the whatsapp message.

All collection and consumption is at your own risk. We cannot guarantee food safety.
Use your common sense — and your love of food.

When you scan the code and sign up for the WhatsApp Community remember to choose which groups you want to be a member of to receive messages.

The project is a pilot project developed by volunteers, and there may not be much activity in the start-up phase. Be patient and help us spread the project by sharing it with your fellow students and colleagues.
